PALIHAN DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM RATIONALE The over-all program of our school is geared towards the formation of a well-rounded Theresian who is socially aware, has initiative and sense of responsibility towards the struggle for social transformation. We aim to mold a Theresian who can analyze the society’s ills, thereby enabling her to opt for and serve the poor in cooperation with other sectors in the society for the welfare of the majority of the Filipino people. PALIHAN which stands for Pabrika ng Likhaan at Kasanayan is a co-curricular program of St. Theresa’s College, Quezon City that provides venues for the students to develop and deepen their social awareness, sensitivity and sense of responsibility for the poor, the deprived, oppressed and exploited members of the society. PALIHAN is a DEVELOPMENTAL program. It deepens and strengthens the formation provided by the Outreach Program of the Grade School which is called SAMAHAN. The program is designed in a way that the level of awareness and involvement progresses from Palihan I to Palihan IV. Starting from skills development to Issue-based sessions; from ocular visits and exposures to advocacy and solidarity with the poor. In all these, one goal guides and inspires us: To provide an education that is God-centered, Person-oriented, Inclusive, Pro-life, Nationalistic and Cosmic. All for the realization of God’s dream for all creation – FULLNESS OF LIFE IN THE NEW HEAVEN AND THE NEW EARTH.
