  1. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS (AAPS)

     The badminton games yielded the over-all championship for the STC school team with multiple wins and only one loss against Angelicum and JASMS in both the singles and doubles events.  They were coached by Mr. Pagarigan.  The members of the team are as follows:

      In basketball, the STC school team placed third overall with a win against JASMS and losses against Angelicum and COLF.  They were coached by Peque Tan.  The members of the school team are as follows:

     The volleyball team also participated in the tournament and they scored wins against St. Vincent School and Jose Abad Memorial School and a loss to Angelicum College en route to a semifinal meeting with JASMS.  The team was coached by Marissa Martinez.  The team was composed of:

  1. NATIONAL YOUTH CONGRESS

St. Theresa’s Collage participated in the 5th National Youth Congress sponsored by the Economics Society, School of Economics Students Council and the National Economic Development Authority entitled:  “NO VACANCY:  The Economics of Education and Labor Mismatch.”  The participants were Felichie Valeriano, Carmina Buenviaje, Katrina Ojeda, Cyrene Tan, Pamela Cruz, Aurea Dayrit, Allison Pagarigan and Pamela Carbonnel.  There were keynote speakers who included Senator Edgardo Angara and Senator Noynoy Aquino.  To culminate the event was a quiz bee on basic economic principles, participated in by 25 schools. Our representative, Felichie Valeriano, was awarded 4th place. 

  1. ICM CENTENNIAL JUBILEE

 

To commemorate the hundred years when Mother Marie Louise de Meester broke new grounds in the mission of the Church and in the heart of the Filipino people, the ICM congregation celebrates the ICM Centennial Jubilee with the following objective:  that the creative energy of the universe continues, promising sustainable life for the people and promoting right relationships between and among human beings and between and among the creatures of God.

 

The centennial celebration was launched during the 2008 retreats, and there is a particular focus for each year.

Year I – 2008:  Firming up our identity as part of creation

  • The creation story:  review and new slant
  • Our personal story within the creation story; earthlings
  • Thanksgiving.  Humility, creativity, silence

 

Year II – 2009:  Implications of our being as earthlings

  • ICM identity
  • Compassion
  • Interculturality
  • Solidarity
  • Reconciliation:  within our old self, among ourselves, with the people we work with; with the society we live in; with the whole universe

 

Year III – 2010:  Follow through the realizations of Years I and II

  • How we live it as ICM
  • Firming up creation spirituality
  • Main celebration of the centennial jubilee

 

Activities for the 3 - year celebration which is in the process of preparation are as follows:

1.  On the personal level (Each ICM sister designs her own program.)

  • A process of healing and renewal
  • Story of my journey, using whatever medium
  • Exposure to the lives of the people especially the poor and marginalized
  • Personal mandate (how to align the Centennial General and Specific Objectives with the existing personal mandate)
  • Others

 

2.  On the Community level (Each community designs a program with their lay collaborators and mission partners)

  • Strengthen communal living as a mission
  • Review community history; prepare memorabilia, significant events, etc. 
  • Celebrating with the people (parish, school, diocese, NGO’s, etc.).  Parish triduum, aligning jubilee theme with the school’s vision-mission, exhibit, socio-pastoral activities and community regular practices, etc.
  • Community mandate (how to align the Centennial General and Specific objectives with the existing community mandate)
  • Ritual of healing and reconciliation
  • Monthly recollection in line with the themes
  • “Pondong ICM” for the jubilee
  • Learning from the IP’s how to relate, conserve, and love with the environment
  • Others

 

3.  On the Area level (Area coordinator designs a program with community leader of each community and with sisters of the area)

 

  • Family gathering
  • Activity with alumnae in all ICM schools, former ICM’s, jubilee project on ecology
  • Parangal for all our mission partners and others fostering sustainable living
  • Area gatherings
  • Formal launching on 2009
  • Mural painting at QP
  • Learning from IP’s how to relate, conserve and live with the environment

4.  On the District level (Each committee designs a program.)

 

  • Launch district preparation with 2008 annual retreat
  • Input on the powers of the universe coursing through us and its spirituality
  • Centennial prayer
  • Logo of the jubilee theme
  • Living museum of Tagudin
  • Gathering of all sisters in 2010
  • Cultural presentation with alumnae on the theme
  • Tent of events featuring ICM mission, lay partners, alumnae, etc.
  • Workshops on ecology, women
  • Ritual of healing and reconciliation
  • Jubilee project with alumnae, others on water
  • Thanksgiving Mass with all sisters, friends, benefactors, alumnae, family,       mission partners, lay missionaries, ICM staff, CICM, MJ, SIHM, MSM, MCM, Holy Family

 

  • Mission garden – QC compound, perhaps also in Cebu, Tagudin etc.
  • Songbook III
  • Jubilee souvenir – mission thoughts and experiences of sisters and living thoughts of MLDM

  • Communal retreat in 2009 by community or inter-community

To coordinate and ensure the smooth flow of activities the following committees were established:
