GRADE 10 STUDENTS’ ENTRY TO THE TBIC-PHILIPPINES MAKES IT TO THE FINALS

St. Theresa’s College, Q.C. High School Department recently participated in a competition entitled, The Bright Ideas Challenge (TBIC) – Philippines, sponsored by Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation. The competition, aimed at challenging the youth’s imagination and ingenuity to offer bright and innovative solutions to power the cities of the future and think of solutions to help solve the energy challenge, received a number of high-quality entries from different schools nationwide.

Based on the rigorous deliberation and screening process of the esteemed panel of judges from Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, the Department of Energy, the Department of Science and Technology and the Mind Museum, one of the team entries of STCQC was chosen to be part of the 10 National Finalists to the TBIC – Philippines. As National Finalist, the qualifying team will display a prototype of their project in the TBIC Fair and Grand Finals on February 24 & 25, 2018 at The Mind Museum, Bonifacio Global City.

Congratulations, Team SOR-B (consisting of Grade 10 students), for your bright idea entitled, Solar Operated Remediation Boat in the Bioremediation of Sea Waters and the Reproduction of Oil Wastes into Reusable Energy! Congratulations, too, to the team’s Project Adviser, Mr. Rhoy Diaz and to Ms. Maria Teresa San Jose, the HS Science Coordinator.

Continue to shine, Theresians, and be a blessing to others, as you show how Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) can tackle real world problems and make a positive difference in the world.
