STCQC Commemorates EDSA@40 with Eucharistic Celebration and Human Chain of Unity

In a meaningful and faith-filled gathering, the Saint Theresa’s College of Quezon City community commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution through a Eucharistic Celebration and a symbolic Human Chain of Unity.

With grateful hearts, students, faculty, personnel, and administrators came together to honor four decades of faith, unity, and peaceful courage that shaped the nation’s history. The celebration served not only as a remembrance of a historic event but also as a renewal of commitment to the values that EDSA represents.

The Holy Mass became a sacred space for reflection on the deeper meaning of People Power. In the homily and prayers offered, the community was reminded that the victory of EDSA was not achieved through violence or force, but through prayer, courage, solidarity, and unwavering trust in God. It was a triumph rooted in faith and collective action.

A highlight of the commemoration was the Human Chain of Unity. Hand in hand, members of the STCQC community formed a powerful symbol of solidarity, a living testament that unity remains the foundation of freedom. The simple yet profound gesture echoed the spirit of 1986, when ordinary Filipinos stood together for extraordinary change.

Guided by the theme, “Manalig sa Diyos, Magkaisa sa Kalayaan, Mamuhay sa Kapayapaan,” the celebration emphasized that true freedom is rooted in trust in God, strengthened by unity, and lived out in peace. The theme resonated deeply as the community reflected on its role in safeguarding truth, protecting democratic values, and promoting harmony in today’s society.

More than a historical remembrance, the EDSA@40 celebration became a call to action. It reminded everyone that the spirit of EDSA is not confined to textbooks or anniversaries.
